Amāvásyā, often translated as New Moon, but translates fully to No Moon day.

In Sanskrit, ‘amā’ means together, and ‘vásya’ means to dwell or cohabit.

It can also be translated to ‘a’, meaning no, ‘ma,’ meaning Moon and ‘Asya,’ meaning there – altogether translating to ‘there is no Moon.’

It is a time to commune, or dwell together in honouring our infinite selves under the darkness of the skies.
